The Land Use Amendment Application went to a Public Hearing and for Council consideration on January 24, 2024 and February 1, 2024. The Land Use Amendment was refused by Council on February 1, 2024. At this time, there are no further updates.
A virtual public information session was held on Tuesday September 12, 2023, from 6:00-7:30 to provide information and answer questions about the Ascension Land Use Amendment application. With revisions based on County, public and stakeholder feedback received, the updated Ascension Land Use Amendment application was submitted to Rocky View County administration on September 14, 2023. The application is under review by the County and will be circulated to internal and external stakeholders and adjacent landowners in October 2023. This application is consistent

The Ascension Conceptual Scheme received third reading at Rocky View County Council on September 21, 2021. The Conceptual Scheme will be added as an Appendix to the Bearspaw Area Structure Plan. The approved version of the Conceptual Scheme has been attached on the Project Resources page.
The Ascension Conceptual Scheme was approved by the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board on September 17, 2021.
The Ascension Conceptual Scheme received second reading from Rocky View County Council on June 15, 2021 and will be progressing through the Interim Regional Evaluation Framework (IREF) Review with the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board in Summer 2021.
